cheering

Today’s Activity:

Sit everyone down on the floor in a circle.  Put one child in the middle and have everyone say at least one nice thing about them.  Each time someone says something nice everyone else needs to cheer as loud as they can “GO MAX!  You’re the best!!!”  Be sure that you take a turn in the middle of the circle too.

Note:

They say it takes 10 positive comments to make up for one negative one so now is your chance to make up for snapping at your kids earlier today.

Evaluate:

This was a great activity.  Far too often I catch myself criticizing my children.  When you spend so much time with these little people you start to notice the bad things they do rather than how thoughtful and kind they are.  Both of them loved having us cheer and clap for them and hearing the nice things we had to say (although the nice things didn’t go far beyond “I like that you play with me”).  I hope this is a successful activity for you!

Update: Check out the Events section to see what musicals your local high schools are doing this year!  Go check it out for a date night!
