I am the mom who checks out all the parenting books from the library and leaves with a screaming child in toe. I am the mom whose little boys hair sticks straight up while his shirt is tucked into his underwear. I am the mom whose kids run over old men with the miniature shopping carts at the store. I am the mom who tries everyday to be better than she was the last. I am the mom with grand ideas and miniscule follow through. I am Becky Heumann mediocre mom of a five year old boy and a two and a half year old girl. I am a wife, a singer, a performer and a periodic fitness fanatic, but only when time allows. I want to be a more playful mom more than I want to be a more perfect mom. I want my son to say, “Mommy you are the greatest mom in the universe” everyday, not just the one day a month that I play with him. I want to be a little less mediocre.
