Today’s Activity:

Have a girls night out.

Note:

If you can’t find a sitter then bring the kids along.

Evaluate:

My childhood friend Angel came and helped me paint our new place while my hubby was out of town and I’ve been promising her I’d treat her to dinner.  Not only did she help paint but she even climbed up on the big scary ladder to paint the inside of the stairwell.  I was so impressed because I was terrified.  Well I finally figured out a time to do it but my husband has a shoot so I would have the kids and didn’t want to pay a sitter.  I had suggested that we get take out and just hang out at my place when she said, “Why don’t we bring the kids and have a picnic at the park?”  What a brilliant idea especially for a girl without any kids of her own.  She’s a saint.  Not only do I get to hang out with my friend and visit but my kids will think I’m the greatest mom ever because I’m letting them stay up past bedtime to play at a park.  To save some money I fed the kids before we went because we all know that if there is playground equipment available they aren’t going to eat anyway.

Today’s Activity:

I sort of skipped passed Earth day so today, do something good for the earth.

Note:

You can plan a tree or go to a public place and pick up trash.

Evaluate:

While we were on a hike Max was so good about picking up trash!  I always feels so sad when I’m outdoors and there is trash.  We found a few lost sandals and several water bottles.  Things looked much nicer after we picked up a few things.

Today’s Activity:

Enjoy the changing weather with your children by doing an indoor chore outdoors.

Note:

It doesn’t even have to be a chore, you could work on your laptop or read a book but whatever you choose to do do it outside.

Evaluate:

My house is a disaster and I feel completely overwhelmed looking at it.  By simply taking the laundry outside to fold it my chores were suddenly much more enjoyable.  Max and Elese have friends over and I like to be outside with them if they have others in the yard so this was a great way to get things accomplished while also supervising the kids.  Oh and the other thing I got done while outside was this blog post…hooray for a laptop and good wireless connection!
